Bishop Atanasije visits Gnjilane region
The administrator of the Diocese of Raška-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija, Bishop Atanasije, today (Feb 26) visited the Gnjilane administrative district. In front of the church of St. Nicholas in Gnjilane Bishop Atanasije was met by protopresbyter Dragan Kojić, the bishop’s deputy for Gnjilane, and protopresbyter Zoran Kovačević, the elder of the Gnjilane church. Bishop Atanasije took part in the Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts served by presbyter Dragiša Jerinić. About 50 faithful took part in the Liturgy and several children took communion.
After Liturgy Bishop Atanasije met in the parish home with the priests of the Gnjilane region to discuss problems they faced in their parishes, as well as current problems. After a shared lunch, Bishop Atanasije informed the priests that tomorrow (Saturday, February 27) he would serve Hierarchal Liturgy in the long-suffering village of Cernica, and then visit Parteš, Žitinje and the destroyed monastery of Binač.
