OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Christophe Kemp, Visits Gračanica Monastery

On the final day of his visit to Kosovo, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Mr. Christophe Kemp visited Gračanica Monastery and met with His Eminence Teodosije, Metropolitan of Raška and Prizren.

On this occasion, High Commissioner Kemp was informed about the life and situation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija and spoke with the Metropolitan about the importance of dialogue, as well as the role of religious leaders in promoting peace, coexistence, and mutual respect.

Metropolitan Teodosije expressed his gratitude to the High Commissioner for the attention and concern shown for the chalenges the Serbian Orthodox Church and its faithful people are facing in Kosovo and Metohija. He particularly emphasised that the preservation of peace, respect for human and religious rights, and the safeguarding of cultural and spiritual heritage are of essential importance for the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, and that religious communities are called to be bridges of trust and cooperation.

The SOC Diocese of Raška and Prizren highly values the OSCE’s commitment to the protection of community rights and religious freedoms and remains committed, in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, to contributing to the strengthening of trust and the preservation of peace in the region.
